TECC LEO (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care | Law Enforcement Officers)

Duration: 1 day

An 8-hour classroom course specifically designed for law enforcement officers and other non-EMS first responders. The course covers materials found in the 16-hour TECC provider course at a level appropriate for first responders. It includes 8 hours of content, which includes interactive lectures, skill stations, and patient simulations. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion, a wallet card recognizing them as a TECC-LEO provider for 4 years, and 8 hours of CAPCE credit for qualified participants.

Course Overview and Learning Outcomes

Duration: 1 Day

The Tactical Emergency Casualty Care aims to equip first responders with the essential medical skills required to deliver lifesaving immediate medical care in a tactical or ‘hot zone’ situation.

The syllabus includes:

  • Hemorrhage control tactics lesson, plus practical tactics stations, on Tourniquet application /Pressure dressings/wound packing.
  • Airway/breathing control lesson and practical scenario training.
  • Rescue tactics lesson and practical training.
  • Chest seals application and use.
  • Nasal Pharyngeal Airway application and use.
  • Appropriate scenario-Based Training/Simulations.

Entry Criteria

Registered Medical, Law Enforcement or First Responder personnel.

Certification

NAEMT Accredited course certificate.
